Lihoumel is a small, rocky islet located just off the western shore of Lihou Island, exposed only at low tide.
Though uninhabited, it has long been part of the island’s maritime and ecological history. Monks from the nearby 12th-century priory may have used Lihoumel for fishing or harvesting seaweed, a valuable resource for agriculture. Over the centuries, it has withstood the relentless forces of the sea, serving as a refuge for seabirds and marine life.
Today, Lihoumel remains an untouched natural feature, adding to the rugged beauty and wild charm of Lihou Island’s coastal landscape.
