Hanois Storm
One of my all-time favourite images of Guernsey, not least due to the challenges I faced to capture it.
Perched behind a large rock, I desperately tried to steady the camera in Force 12 gusts as the sun burst from the clouds for just a handful of seconds. That moment allowed me to capture the light piercing through the thundering swell and the illumination of Hanois lighthouse, before disappearing until night fell, as the next shower already began to sting my face in the oppressive wind.
I've never seen the sea such a perfect shade of cyan since and have never seen the waves so perfectly formed in this immense fashion. I estimated the breaking waves to be in excess of 12-14 metres that day and it was truly humbling to witness, let alone photograph.
